RESIST(E) – Public Talk

In context with the NegPos Gallery’s Printemps Photographique Festival 12th edition: South African photography, John Fleetwood presented a talk on photography learning in South Africa, in Africa and the important challenges faced including the shifts in photography in the last 20 years. The talk took place on the 17 November 09h30 at the University of Nîmes BU, Vauban site, France.

Printemps Photographique exhibition focuses on South African contemporary photography featuring work by Jodi Bieber, Noncedo Gxekwa, Dean Hutton, Matt Kay, Leohang Kganye, Zanele Muholi, Masixole Ncevu, Alexia Webster, Jansen van Staden, Cedric Nunn, Chris Sauders, Dave Southwood and Andrew Tshabangu. John Fleetwood and Peter Machen were invited speakers. Valérie Urrea and Nathalie Masduraud’s film were presented.

Printemps will take place from November 2017 to February 2018 in several places within the city of Nîmes accompanied by a mini-conference presented by NegPos and its partners.
